Mark Hamill – Full Biography
Mark Richard Hamill, born on September 25, 1951, in Oakland, California, is an American actor and voice artist best known for his iconic role as Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars franchise. Raised in a military family with six siblings, Hamill spent much of his childhood moving from place to place, including Virginia, San Diego, and Japan. His interest in acting eventually led him back to the United States, where he studied drama at Los Angeles City College.
Hamill began his career with appearances on television before landing regular roles in series such as General Hospital and The Texas Wheelers. His life changed dramatically in 1977 when he was cast as Luke Skywalker in Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope. The film became a worldwide phenomenon, and Hamill’s portrayal of the young Jedi hero turned him into a global star. He later reprised the role in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, further cementing Luke Skywalker’s place as one of the most beloved characters in cinema history.
