Oscar Isaac Hernandez Estrada (born March 9, 1979) is a Guatemalan-American actor best known for portraying Poe Dameron in the Star Wars sequel trilogy. His performance as the skilled Resistance pilot brought charisma, confidence, and emotional depth to the new generation of heroes in the Star Wars saga.
Born in Guatemala and raised in Miami, Florida, Isaac developed an early passion for music and acting. He studied at the Juilliard School in New York City, where he refined his craft before beginning his professional acting career. Prior to joining Star Wars, he gained critical acclaim for his performance in Inside Llewyn Davis, establishing himself as a versatile and compelling leading actor.
Isaac made his first appearance as Poe Dameron in Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens (2015), quickly becoming a fan favorite.
